The floor heating thermostats save energy and allow you to maintain the radiant floor heating system to the desired temperature level.
STEP Warmfloor™ heating elements are self-regulating and cannot overheat; therefore it is as if you had a sensor over the whole floor surface. Although the heating system does not require a control unit, except for an on/off switch, you may want to install a controller or regulator for the following reasons:
- Not everyone has the same temperature comfort needs
- You may want to keep some rooms warmer than others
- You want to keep the floors warm and not rely on the ambient temperature
- When the house is not in use you may not need much heat, but you do not want to risk the water tubing to freeze
- You are aware of energy efficiency and want to keep the cost down
STEP Warmfloor™ floor heating thermostats save energy and allow you to have the radiant floor heating system turned on when desired. Programmable and non-programmable thermostats are available that feature a sensor in the floor to measure floor temperature or a sensor that senses ambient temperature.

EPI-LX-TH - Non-programmable thermostatThe EPI-LX-TH is a non-programmable thermostat for use with the STEP Warmfloor™ system (in conjunction with the EPI-LX-R power supply series). Temperature is measured in 15 minute cycles by the thermostat's microprocessor, which determines the amount of pulsing (system on/off) needed for each subsequent interval. The EPI-LX-TH pulses the supply voltage of the EPI-LX-R power supply in a manner to help closely match the system heat output with the heating needs for that zone and to prevent temperature overshoot typical with other heating systems. The EPI-LX-TH is designed to be flush wall mounted in a single gang box and should be installed on an inside wall in a place most representative of the zone it controls. Up to 20 EPI-LX-R power supplies can be connected to one EPI-LX-TH thermostat. PRODUCT FEATURES
Easy-to-read backlit display
Three temperature control modes:
A mode: controls ambient air temperature
F mode: controls floor temperature using external temperature sensor (EPI-LX-SEN)
AF mode: controls ambient temperature with floor temperature limits (EPI-LX-SEN required)
On-screen heating power indicator
On/Standby switch
Slim, contemporary design
Battery free; will retain all programming settings in the event of power failure
