  • STEP Snowmelt™ panel is designed to melt snow and ice on entrances, walkways, driveways, ramps, patios, etc.
  • STEP Snowmelt™ is embedded between two layers of strong tarpaulin to ensure that the panel is protected against alkaline, salts and other physical damages.
  • STEP Snowmelt™ operates on 24 volts and is connected to a step down transformer.
  • STEP Snowmelt™ is self-regulating and cannot overheat, thereby using less electricity and does not wear out over time.
  • STEP Snowmelt™ panel is light weight and flexible, easy to install and can be cut to size on the job site.

System Components
HEATING ELEMENT (VEP-30-2-70W-24V)
Low voltage (24V, AC or DC), self-regulating Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) semi-conductive polyethylene enclosed in a protective vinyl sleeve. Patented. Cut to order with 174 feet maximum shipping spool length.
CONNECTORS & SEALANT TAPE (CON-DB & TAPE-1)
Includes CON-DB Crimp Connectors (2 per each heating strip) and enough TAPE-1 Sealant Tape to seal crimped heating element strips to extension wires and to create a watertight seal on both ends of each panel.
TRANSFORMER (EP-150-US, EP-300-US)
Low voltage dry type isolation transformer. 120 Vac primary and 24 Vac secondary. NEMA 3R enclosure.
STEP TRANSFORMER (STEP-500VA, STEP-1000VA, STEP-1500VA)
Low voltage dry type isolation transformer. 120 / 240 / 277 Vac primary and 24 Vac secondary. Extruded aluminum profile enclosure w/ heat sink. Patent pending.
EXTENSION WIRE (TCu12-XXX-B/-W)
#12 AWG stranded tinned copper (TCu) PVC insulated wire, 300 Vac, 105°C. Used to extend heating element bus braid wires directly to transformers.

Color Code: -B indicates black; -W indicates white
Spool Length: XXX = 50, 100, 150, 250 or 500 feet
CRIMP TOOL (TOOL-PRO)
Used to crimp CON-DB crimp connector. TOOL-PRO crimp tool is required as it is specially designed to properly crimp CON-DB crimp connector. Tool may be purchased or rented.
