DIGI-LUX™ Thermostat The STEP Warmfloor™ heating elements are self-regulating and cannot overheat; therefore it is as if you had a sensor over the whole floor surface. Although the heating system does not require a control unit, except for an on/off switch, you may want to install a controller or regulator for the following reasons: - Not everyone has the same temperature comfort needs
- You may want to keep some rooms warmer than others
- You want to keep the floors warm and not rely on the ambient temperature
- When the house is not in use you may not need much heat, but you do not want to risk the water tubing to freeze
- You are aware of energy efficiency and want to keep the cost down
Recommended Controllers | | MICROREG CONTROLLER (MICROREG) Electronic power controller with relay output for infinitely variable setting of requested heating output, up to 10A. | | | | DIGI-LUX CONTROLLER (DIGI-LUX, DIGI-Therm, DIGI-Reg-1, DIGI-Reg-2) Electronic Thermostat/Regulator combination (DIGI-LUX) used for zone control of STEP Warmfloor™ system. Thermostat (DIGI-Therm) can be flush wall mounted in single gang box. Each Regulator can control up to 2,500W of connected load. Up to three additional Regulators (DIGI-Reg-2) can be connected to first Regulator (DIGI-Reg-1) to allow for group control of up to 10,000W of connected load. | Alternative Controllers | - Dimmer, heavy duty, single pole, designed for low-voltage, magnetic transformer. Choose a dimmer size two times larger than the capacity of the transformer.
