roof ice in a valley

I have three potential applications for your product. One of these is what locally is known as a "texas valley". Our metal roof has a valley formed by the joining of two gables. There is enough slope to it that water is not an issue until it snows, freezes, and the ice backs up under the valley flashing. The propanel roof is installed on top of the old asphalt shingles. I attended a local open house at a dealer for warmfloor here in Durango, Co. My un derstanding is that I will need to remove the propanel in the area in question lay down the product and reinstall the propanel. Two questions: Since the product can not be in contact w/ a conductive material what should be installed between the propanel and the heating element. What if any material is required between the heating element and the asphault shingle surface which is abrasive. Is 80# roofing paper sufficient?
Thanks

For our snowmelt applications, the heating elements are embedded between two layers of vinyl to ensure that the panels are protected against UV rays and other physical damages.

Did You Know?
STEP Warmfloor™ is the most energy efficient heating available because the material itself is self-regulating and only draws the energy it needs to maintain an even temperature on the whole surface. The heating elements cannot overheat.
